Common Questions
Quick answers before you email
How do I activate FireBudget after purchasing?
Download the macOS app from the download page, open it, and sign in with the same email address you used at checkout. FireBudget emails you an access code during sign-in to verify your purchase.
I didn't receive my access code. What should I check?
Check your spam or junk folder first, and confirm you are signing in with the exact email address used at checkout. You can request a new code from the app sign-in screen. If it still does not arrive, email support from your purchase email address.
Where do I get the latest version of the app?
The download page always links to the current macOS build, and the app checks for updates itself. Your purchase includes 2 years of free software upgrades, so updating during that window costs nothing extra.
What happens after my update window ends?
The app you have keeps working. After the included update window, future paid upgrades may apply rather than rolling you into a recurring subscription. There is no charge you need to cancel.
Where is my budget data stored, and how do I back it up?
Your budget data is stored on your machine, not in our cloud. Use the built-in backup and export features to protect it. Please do not email budget exports or sensitive financial details unless support asks for a specific item.
How do I ask about a refund?
Email support from the email address you used at checkout and mention that you are asking about a refund. Purchases are processed by Polar, and support will confirm the next steps by email.
What should I include in a bug report?
Include your FireBudget version, your macOS version, and what you were doing when the problem happened. Screenshots of the problem are helpful. Leave out budget exports or sensitive financial details unless support asks for a specific item.
